This is a desk of my own design, which we have built exclusively for about 10 years. I originally designed this for a client who came to me desiring the ultimate desk. We set out to create a piece of furniture that was aesthetically pleasing and extremely functional. The result pleased him immeasureably and has continued to please many other clients over the years. I hope you will get equal pleasure from owning one.

Many successful executives live their lives behind mediocre desks, never thinking about the fact that this is where you may spend most of your waking hours and where you make your money. In contrast, we spend two or three times this amount of money on our cars and spend only an hour or two a day driving them. A working desk is the most personal business tool we own and driving a desk like this all day is a rewarding experience.

This is a very complex piece of furniture; the original prototype took 8 months to build. Every part of it is made by hand, using rare, exotic woods and old world craftsmanship equal to the finest antique furniture from the 19th century. Because we design, build and market directly to the end user we are able to offer these at the very attractive price of $53,000. We also design and build matching credenzas, conference tables and bookcases.

The raised panels and corner columns are entirely hand carved in black walnut; the book matched burl walnut panels on the top are framed by walnut herring bone inlays with ebony stringing. The corners are set with satinwood fan inlays; all of the drawer fronts and the pull out work trays are book matched burl walnut. The drawers move very smoothly on hidden ball bearing glides. The center drawer is fitted with a sliding pencil and accessory tray. There are heavy brass box locks on the top three and two lower file drawers and two doors with hidden hinges on the front, with shelves inside. The top can be done in all burl, all tooled leather or with a leather center panel and burl walnut sides.

The finish consists of twelve hand rubbed coats of lacquer with a natural looking antique distressing to give it a patina of age. The traditional solid brass hardware is also finished with an antique bronze patina. The modesty panel is removable. The desk is 84 inches wide by 40 inches deep and is built in three pieces for easy shipping and installation.
